Important Information Concerning US History

** United States History is a state-mandated course, required for high school graduation **

** Students must take the end-of-course (EOC) test at the end of the semester **

** The EOC counts for 10% of a student's overall course grade **


Important Upcoming Dates:

  • January 29 - Unit 1 Test (Green at Home)

  • February 12 - Unit 2 Test (Blue at Home)

  • February 26 - Unit 3 Test (Green at Home)

  • March 10 - WIN Testing

  • March 12 - Unit 4 Test (Blue at Home)

  • March 25 - District Benchmark Test (Standard 1.1-4.3)

    • ** Green students will log on through Google Meet Live

  • March 26 - Unit 5 Test (Purple at Home)

  • April 16 - Unit 6 Test (Red at Home)

  • April 30 - Unit 7 Test (Purple at Home)

  • May 14 - Unit 8 Test (Red at Home)

  • May 25 - EOC TESTING DAY!


Important Information about the Benchmark Test:

1. The Benchmark Test is REQUIRED.

2. All virtual students will be required participate in the Google Meet (using classroom Meet link in Google Classroom to take the test. Face-to-face students must be in person to complete the test. Those student eLearning will be required to participate live in Google Meet.

3. Virtual/eLearning students must sign on at the beginning of the class period and will have the entire block to complete the test (unless approved for accommodations). Face-to-face students will take the class during the designated class time.

4. All students will go to this site https://student.masteryconnect.com/ to access the test. Virtual/eLearning students must be present in the Google Meet/face-to-face students must be in class to receive the test code.

5. All virtual/eLearning students must have their camera ON during the test and screens will be monitored during this time. Face-to-face students will be monitored in person by the teacher.

6. ALL STUDENTS: As an incentive to prepare for the Benchmark Test, students will be given the opportunity to earn extra credit that can be added to their lowest test grade (up to a 100) for receiving a passing score. The breakdown is as follows:

  • 60-69 = 10 bonus pts.

  • 70-79 = 15 bonus pts.

  • 80-89 = 20 bonus pts.

  • 90-100 = 25 bonus pts.

I will send out more reminders as the time gets closer. However, please make sure you go ahead and put this date/time on your calendar!
