Student Book Checkout
Students check out books each week during their assigned class time. Books are checked out for a period of two weeks. There is no fine for late books, but payment must be made for lost or damaged items.
Kindergarten and First Grade are allowed to check out one book.
Second - Fifth Grades are allowed to check out two books.
Book Care
We remind students each year of their responsibility in caring for library books. Books should be kept in a clean, dry place away from pets and small children. We also encourage students not to put lunchboxes in book bags to prevent spills and damage. Fines will be assessed for any damaged books. Please note that we generally cannot save books that have been wet. A replacement fee will be charged for any lost or destroyed books. Refunds may be given if a student returns the lost book with the receipt during the school year.
Student Behavior
Students are expected to exhibit good library citizenship at all times. This means respecting people and property by speaking quiet voices, walking, and keeping the book shelves and other materials in good order and condition.
