About Me

I have been teaching social studies at Woodmont High School since the new building opened over a decade ago. I have an MAT degree in secondary social studies from Converse College in Spartanburg. I am a career changer, having come to education from the legal field. I am retired from the practice of law and have a JD degree from the University of Cincinnati in addition to two other degrees. I am a graduate of Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati. I have served as a mentor to new teachers in our building in addition to serving as a cooperating teacher for student teachers who are learning the profession. I enjoy travel, history, writing, going to the beach, politics, my two little black dogs (Lila and Scarlet), and eating out. I have a husband (John) and a son (A.J.) who graduated from Mauldin High School a couple of years ago and who attends Greenville Tech. My favorite places that I have visited so far are Ecuador, Brazil and Peru, and I would very much like to travel to China, Finland and Russia. Maybe I will make it to those places someday.
