Class Behavior Plan

Our class uses a hybrid of Whole Brain Teaching and a R.E.S.P.E.C.T. management system.

Classroom Rules:

1. Follow directions quickly.

2. Raise your hand for permission to speak.

3. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.

4. Make smart choices.

5. Act with R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T. is an acronym for Respect, Each other, Self, Property, Environment, Collaboration, and Thoughts

Ask your child to show you the hand motions that go with each rule!

Scoreboard

I use a scoreboard as a class motivator. There are two sides, one being the teacher side and the other the students' side. Students get a point when they are following our class rules and the teacher gets a point when that is not the case. By recess time, the class gets a couple minutes extra recess if they are ahead on the scoreboard. If the teacher is ahead, we use that time to partner up and review our class rules.

Gold Tickets

Students can earn gold tickets for positive behavior and turn in those gold tickets for prizes from the treasure box every Friday afternoon. Gold tickets can be taken away for negative behavior.

Fix-It Tickets

If a student is acting in a way which severely interrupts learning on our classroom, they will be given multiple opportunities to make a smarter choice. If a change in behavior does not occur, the student will be asked to fill out a Fix-It Ticket, in which they explain their behavior and what they will do differently. At the end of the day, the teacher will discuss the ticket with the student privately. The ticket will be signed by the student, teacher, and parent/guardian and returned the next school day.
