Mission, Vision, and Beliefs
Mission:
The Woodland Elementary School Comprehensive School Counseling Program facilitates equitable leadership opportunities for every student by collaborating with parents, teachers, students, and the community. Our student-centered program provides access to an encouraging and supportive environment that promotes success in academic, career, and social/emotional growth. The School Counselors are advocates who empower every student to reach their highest potential to become contributing members and leaders of the 21st-Century society.
Vision:
The vision of the Woodland Elementary School Comprehensive School Counseling Program is that every student has acquired the essential skills and knowledge to be lifelong leaders. They exude confidence in their academic, career, and social/emotional skills, creating individuals who are kind, capable, and resilient members of society. Our students recognize their strengths and synergize with others to attain their goals and reach their highest potential.
Beliefs:
The School Counselors advocate for every student.
The School Counselors believe that every student can learn and can succeed.
The School Counselors follow and adhere to ASCA’s Code of Ethics.
The School Counselors believe that all students can be leaders.
All students have unique strengths that are equally important in our school and in society.
All students should be given equal opportunities.
Students should be given a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning and growing.
Every student should feel heard, understood, and supported when talking with a School Counselor.
All students should have access to a comprehensive school counseling program.
Every student should have access to a school counselor who will listen, support, and advocate for them.
The School Counselors utilize relevant data to design and implement programs that best support our students and continue to improve our school counseling program.
Collaboration with families, teachers, administration, and the community is a key component to having an effective school counseling program.
A comprehensive school counseling program supports all aspects of the students’ lives, including their academic, career, and social/emotional concerns.
Community:
