My Philosophy of Education
Educating is a huge challenge, and even though certain types of learning are best delivered in a traditional fashion, most non- traditional forms of learning are more entertaining, As an educator, I have an entire classroom full of learners with diverse learning styles, different strengths, weaknesses, attitudes, backgrounds, and different purposes, and because of this, I ensure that my learners feel linked to what they are learning.
In the words of Socrates, " Education is not the filling of a vessel but the kindling of a flame". The word "Education" itself comes from the word "Educere" which means to bring out what is already in and not blindly stuffed in. I believe the purpose of education is to detect talent proactively.
The goal for me is to incorporate a lot of creativity with traditional and non-traditional strategies in the classroom. I want learning to be fun and hands on. Students will become interested and eager to learn, and feel more productive. They will become thinkers and problem solvers.
I believe it is a teachers obligation to prepare students for the inevitable changes that will occur in their lives by instilling confidence and knowledge. Life is all about change. Learning gives them hope.
