About Ms. Freeland

I am originally from South Carolina and actually grew up right here in Simpsonville! After graduating high school in 2016, I migrated up to Cullowhee, North Carolina to attend Western Carolina University and study Instrumental Music Education. I graduated with my Bachelors of Music and Bachelors of Science in Education in December of 2020.

I grew up surrounded by music, due to both of my parents being musicians and my father being a high school band director. This encouraged my love for music and my desire to learn an instrument, which eventually led me to start playing the flute back in 6th grade. Due to my enjoyment of playing music, learning music, and the encouragement from my music teachers, I decided to pursue a career in music education. Throughout my years at Western Carolina University I performed in many ensembles including our Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and flute ensemble. I also performed in WCU’s Pride of the Mountains marching band and got to perform in the 2019 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

I cannot wait to share my knowledge and love for music with you all at Ralph Chandler Middle School! GO PANTHERS!
