Hi my name is Raquel Batista and I am thrilled to join the staff of Monarch Elementary as Administrative Assistant! This is my 11th year in education. Here's a little bit about myself....

My first job in the education field (2007) was working as a teacher assistant with socially, emotionally disturbed children. This experience taught me that children are all especial disregarding their ability or capability. From this learning opportunity I made the decision to become an educator. Education had always been a field of interest. I attended Manhattan College (Riverdale, NY 2004-2006) and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT with a degree in Psychology minoring in Education (2009). In 2013 I obtained a my teacher certification in Spanish through the ARC program. I recently graduated from Clemson University with a degree on Supervision and Administration.

I'm married to a wonderful man who loves to spend time with his family, we have three sons Bryann, Derek, and Samuel. I love to dance, travel, cook and photography!!!
