Hello Parents and Students!
My name is Chris Lindsey, and I will be teaching your child fourth grade Math and Reading at Plain Elementary School. I co-teach with Mrs. Jesyca Arnold, who will teach Writing, Social Studies, and Science during the second half of the day. I have taught both fourth and fifth grade at Plain over the last 12 years. Since graduating from the University of Connecticut in 1990, I have taught most grade levels from Preschool through Grade 6 in Connecticut, Texas, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
I grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut, and I still enjoy visiting New England twice a year to see my parents and sisters, and going to the beach (which I adore!) I love to travel. I have visited faraway places such as England, Portugal, France, Germany, The Netherlands, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. During my junior year in college, I had the awesome privilege of studying for a semester in Granada, Spain, where I learned to speak Spanish. I love to cook, read novels and sing, and am a member of the Brookwood Church Praise Choir.
I have been married to my husband Keith for 31 years, and we have 3 terrific kids, all of whom attended Plain Elementary. My oldest, Cameron, graduated in 2016 from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and is a Captain in the Air Force and a C17 Pilot. He and his wife are stationed in Charleston, and are expecting their first baby any day now!
My younger son Connor graduated in 2019 from Clemson University as a Computer Engineering major and works virtually at Amazon Web Services and lives in Charleston as well. My daughter Kara is a Junior at Clemson University, studying Bioengineering. We also have an adorable (very spoiled) 11½ year old rescue border collie-cocker spaniel named Toby.
I am so very honored to be able to teach your children. Both Mrs. Arnold and I are available to answer any questions you may have as we navigate this year together. I look forward to a super year! Please feel free to contact me any time.

I am excited about our year in fourth grade. Plain Elementary is a great place to be and it is an honor to be part of a school family that is positively committed to every child.
My husband, Jesse and I have been married for twenty-nine years and have three energetic boys: Jacob (25), Joshua (23) and John (17). Jacob lives in California and works in the medical devices industry, Joshua is studying to be a veterinarian at the University of Georgia, and John is in the 12th grade. We have made Simpsonville our home for the past twenty-six years and believe there is no better place to live.
Some interests that keep me busy outside of school and family are watching sports (soccer and college football), art (drawing, painting, and wood working), cooking, reading and traveling.
Originally from Alexandria, Virginia I received a degree in Elementary Education from Radford University. I have taught in Gainesville, Florida (Go Gators!) and Greenville, South Carolina. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to make this year a great success.
