About Me

My name is Nicole Koenig, and it is a pleasure to be working with you and your student this school year. As you can see, I am originally from Ohio; I moved to Greenville in 2015. I attended Bowling Green State University for my undergraduate work, completing my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education and after graduating, I started my first job in Tennessee in 2008. Shortly after moving, I attended Austin Peay State University and earned my Master's Degree in Education Specialties and spent the next 7 years teaching in the Nashville area, all but one of those years as a special education teacher. I was lucky to have my sister move down once she graduated college in 2013 but after a few years, we decided we missed our family and made our way to South Carolina in 2015 to be near our mom.

When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, reading, and crafting. My favorite hobbies currently are running and kayaking. To date, I have run 5 half marathons and many 5k, 10k races, and 10 mile races. Some of these races have even taken place at Disney World! Running through the parks and castle was an amazing experience; I can't wait to do that again someday. When I can, I continue to run other, local races to prepare for my next running adventure.
