My name is Ms. Hawkins and I am a 5th grade teacher at Alexander Elementary School! This is my second year at Alexander and I couldn't be more excited for the opportunity to teach here. I love 5th grade and all of the learning, growing, creating, and exploring we will do!

I am in love with reading and all of the adventures you can take in the pages of a book. We will be working on becoming life-long lovers of reading. My class will be reading every single day!

I grew up in Nashville, TN and recently graduated from Furman University. I am getting my masters in Early Childhood Development and am studying how a child's brain develops.

I plan my lessons with my awesome team, Ms. Hunt and Mrs. Jimenez. All of our decisions in the classroom are research-based and what is most conducive to learning! I believe that every child can succeed and will do my best to ensure that your child is ready for middle school!
