About Me

An expert in science education, Mackenzie Graves is an emerging leader in the field of Dyslexia and multi-sensory education. She uses her combined 11 years of K- A.P. experience to motivate and empower students.  G&T, ML and 2E students, thrive in a rigorous, multi-sensory environment. Ms. Graves also works to inspire and elevate teachers with engaging and workable solutions.

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I moved to Greenville in 2013 for my husband's job. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Georgia Southern University. My undergraduate research was in vector-borne diseases.  I have always loved science because I've always been curious about the natural world. After working in a lab, I decided to became a teacher.  I have taught elementary science all the way to A.P. Environmental. I have taught in both public and private schools with G&T, ML and 2E students. Currently, I am in training to be a Certified Dyslexia Specialist. I completed my OGA Associate coursework at Camperdown Academy in Greenville.

When I am not in the classroom, I love to be outside.  We usually spend the weekend hiking, camping or out in the garden. My family still lives in Georgia, so I try to get back to Atlanta and Lake Lanier whenever possible.  My son is in elementary school, so I am involved with PTO and Cub Scouts. I also volunteer with the Junior League of Greenville.

Doing research on Skidaway Island.  Georgia's Barrier islands are my happy place!
