With a Dad in the Navy, I lived in a variety of places growing up.  I spent most of my time in Virginia, so I consider that my home.  In 1982 I graduated with High Honors from the University of Tennessee, where I met my husband David to whom I've been married to for 41 years.  In my free time I like to watch college football (go Vols!) and hockey, read, needlepoint, and cook. I'm also a HUGE fan of the cartoon series Pinky and the Brain. I received my Masters in Middle Level Social Studies at Furman in 2006, and in 2019 I renewed my National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification in Early Adolescent Social Studies.

I have two sons.  My oldest, Alex, attended Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.  He and his wife Elena live in Richmond, Virginia with my fabulous 7 year old granddaughter Helen and my grandson Graham who will be 3 years old in December.  My youngest, John, graduated from the Citadel and is working and living here in Greenville.

This is my 27th  year of teaching, my 20th  year teaching middle school, and my 10th year at League.  History was my favorite subject in school, and after this year, I hope it will be yours too!
