All About

Mrs.Mlay

Hi, I am Mrs. Linda Mlay. I love teaching at Slater-Marietta Elementary School. This year (2023-2024) will be my 21st year here at SMES and my 30th year as a teacher.  I am very excited to share my love of learning in and out of the classroom again with wonderful second and third graders.  I graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I later added a certification in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).  I am highly-qualified to teach in South Carolina.  I taught in Tampa, Florida before moving to South Carolina. I have taught many different types of classes including Intervention in Reading, Writing and Math. I have taught several years of 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade right here at SMES, too!

My family and I love living here on an old farm in Pumpkintown with lots of animals. It's a great place for me to enjoy gardening, cooking, and spending time outdoors. My husband, Kief, and I have two daughters (Keelie and Kaelin) who are now Greenville County teachers, too.  They have come a long way since they were students right here at Slater-Marietta Elementary School.
