Greetings

Hello!  My name is Jennifer Minton.  This is my 4th year teaching at the secondary level with my previous experience being at the university level of education. This is my first year at FIHS and I am very excited to start a new chapter in my career.  I will be teaching A.P. U.S. History, U.S. History CP, and Psychology this year at Fountain Inn High. 

Within my teaching career, I taught at a regional charter school here in Greenville from 2022-2023.  Prior to the charter experience, I taught in Virginia for Newport News Public School District and the Virginia Department of Educations virtual program, VirtualVA.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and East Asian Studies from DePauw University (2008) in Greencastle, Indiana. I also earned my Master of Arts Degree in History and Thought from the National University of Ireland, Galway (University of Galway, 2011).  I am currently earning my gifted and talented endorsement and working on entry into my Ph.D. in History. Additionally, I have my AP US History Endorsement and AP Human Geography endorsement. 

I was raised outside of Chicago, in a small farm town in northwest Indiana that’s not so small anymore! After college, I traveled around the world, with extended stays in Japan and Ireland. After returning from Ireland, I moved to Florida where I met my husband, Nathan. We have moved a couple times over the years, finally settling back in his hometown of Greenville last July.  Nathan went to Riverside High and graduated from Clemson with his engineering degree.  We have two fun and energetic girls, Emma Clare (7), who is attending Mauldin Elementary School, and Sophia (2) who is excited to follow in her big sister’s footsteps.  We are also expecting another addition to our family in November 2023! My family is rounded out with our two loveable and energetic dogs, Monster and Misses, and our two playful cats, Akiko and Po.
