U.S. History

Course Description

In the United States History and the Constitution course, students will employ the skills of a historian to explore our nation’s past.  While content is essential, it is critically important for students to have the opportunity to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information. The majority of instructional time should focus on building student skills while concurrently teaching content. Students should have time to organize their own thinking and to discuss events across units in order to understand the interrelatedness of all standards.  This practice aligns instruction with the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate and prepares each student for success on the US History EOCEP and in college and careers.
