About Me

I am Miss Gates and I am excited to kick off my fourth year of teaching! I was born in Massachusetts, but moved to sunny Florida when I was very young. All of my education was completed in Florida, including two years at Broward College where I played softball while completing my Associate's Degree, and two years at Florida Southwestern State College, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in elementary education (K-6). 

After graduating, I returned to the district I grew up in and taught 5th grade for three years. This past summer, I moved to Taylors with my older sister, and we are very excited to get to know the area. 

I love my job and enjoy coming to work each day. My goal is to create a classroom that feels like a community, so that every student feels welcomed and valued when they walk in. 

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, shopping, coaching softball, and exploring the area. I am also a BIG Taylor Swift fan.

I am looking forward to an exciting school year!
