Welcome to 8th grade and to my science classroom! Together, we will learn about Earth and Space Science as well as address several Physics concepts. Use the navigation to take you to important schedules, documents, and resources that we will use this year.

Mrs. Cotney has been teaching science for over a decade. She taught Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, AVID, Biology, Physical Science, and Current Issues at Laurens District 55 High School and Newberry High School. She is excited about teaching 8th Grade Science this year at Bryson Middle! Mrs. Cotney is married to Mr. Cotney who is an Assistant Principal at Laurens Middle and they have a daughter, Eliza, who is will be 4 this school year. Mrs. Cotney loves to learn and read. She received her undergraduate degree in Production Studies in Performing Arts (vocal studies) with a minor in Biological Sciences at Clemson University. She then went on to obtain a Master's in Agricultural Education from CU. In 2017, she completed her studies and received her Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
