About

My name is Mrs. Whittenberg, and I grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. I  was a student in the Greenville County School system from 5th grade through high school.  I started taking piano lessons when I was in the third grade and fell in love with playing music. In middle school I joined the band and began playing the clarinet. Once I was in highschool, I had the opportunity to play the trumpet. As soon as I put the trumpet in my hand, I fell in love with the instrument and continued playing the trumpet during my years at college. I went to Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina and earned a degree in music education. I decided to study music in college because I could not imagine my life without music as part of it.  I am married with two children and a silly poodle named Hampton. My husband and I love to cook and try new and exciting ways to make food delicious. When I am not teaching music, you can find me at home watching movies and enjoying time with my family.  I received my undergraduate degree from Columbia College and my Master's in Music Education from Anderson University. I am currently working on my doctorate degree in Instruction and Curriculum. I love  learning different ways I can better help serve my school and the community. Most of all I love sharing music with my students and enjoying music for music sake.
