Units
Units of Instruction Aligned with SC Early Learning Standards (mini units will be added to enhance instruction)
The preschool special education classrooms use both the Read It Once Again (RIOA), Unique Learning Systems (ULS), Get preschool curriculums. RIOA centers around one familiar children's book each month and ULS units of study are based on topics of instruction that align with 4K general education unit topics. This year we will be using a combination of both curriculums and students will complete activities in the following domain areas: Approaches to Learning, Emotional and Social Development, Health and Physical Development, Language Development and Communication, Mathematical Processing and Expression and Cognitive Development. Each unit aligns to early learning standards for younger and older preschool students.
