About Me

This is my 32nd  year of teaching. I have been at  Slater Marietta all of these years except one. The time has passed by so quickly! I  taught 4th grade for the majority of my years, but I also taught 3rd grade for 6 years.  This is my tenth year as a special education teacher.

I am originally from Mt. Pleasant, SC. I moved to Greenville after I graduated from Furman in 1992. I completed my master's degree in special education at Furman in 1994. I have completed 30 hours of graduate work above my master's degree and earned my National Board Teacher certification.

Outside of teaching at Slater Marietta, I teach  CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding at Furman University. During the summer I enjoy teaching people how to swim at various communities. I have been teaching swimming for over 35 years!

Outside of teaching, I love exercising, reading, going to the beach, spending time with friends, and visiting my family in Columbia.    I have 2 sons, T., a 12th grader at TR High School, who runs on the cross country and track teams, and Jay, a 10th grader also at Travelers Rest High School who participates in the Golden Regiment Marching Band and plays on the TRHS tennis team.
