About Me

I've been an educator for a number of years in schools throughout South Carolina. For more than twenty of these years, I've served as a school counselor; eleven years at the elementary school level, one year at the middle school level, and nine years at the high school level. I now work with students in all levels of education throughout Greenville County in our Group Home/RTF program.

Before becoming a school counselor, I taught music in the schools. I've also taught private voice and piano lessons, and have performed with various musical groups. Music is still a very strong passion for me, and I now enjoy songwriting.

I received my music education degree from The University of South Carolina and my school counseling degree from Clemson University. In case there is any question, my allegiance is to USC. Go Gamecocks!

Growing up, my family (mother, father, and three sisters) moved every few years as my father was a Methodist minister. This gave me the opportunity to meet many interesting people along the way. In 1982, I married my husband, Robert. We have two grown children, Katharine and Daniel, as well as our son-in-law, Richard. I must say that family is the most important thing in the world to me.
