My name is Zurii Norman. I am teaching 5th grade here at Sue Cleveland Elementary. This is my 6th year teaching and my 1st year at The Big Sue. I spent 1 year at a charter school and 4 years in Anderson School District 5.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Claflin University in 2010. I recently received my Master in the Art of Teaching Elementary Education in December 2019 from Anderson University. For the past 7 years, I have been making America even more beautiful as a stylist for Great Clips. During my time with Great Clips I served as Training Manager for 2 years. For 3 years I served as a market educator with Great Clips Design Team, where I would go into the career centers and beauty schools and teacher students new skills and techniques. Now I have the opportunity to answer the calling to make the future even brighter as an elementary educator.
I received the Excellence in Leadership Award for my work in teaching reading from Anderson District 5 Teacher Forum in 2022.
When I’m not teaching, I’m an active member of my fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., as a youth mentor for our Kappa League and Kappa Knights programs. I also sing in the choirs at church.
