My name is Brian Mekler and I am the social studies teacher on team 7-2! I'm excited to be working with both the students and the parents this year as we explore the world through geography. This is my fifth year at Northwest Middle School and my second year teaching in seventh grade. I was born and raised in Boston, MA until I moved south in 2006. I graduated from Wofford College and received my Master's Degree from Clemson University, Go Tigers! I live in Greenville with my dog, Norm. I enjoy sports (Yes, I'm a Patriots and Red Sox fan), working out, eating out and relaxing watching tv at night. I am known as the Bow Tie Guy here at NWMS, you'll hear many stories about them and my obsession with them. I love to have fun but also love to challenge my students as we grow and learn together!
