Your Healthy, Happy Student

Your students need as much support as possible to maintain healthy, happy lifestyles. Below are some tips that you can use at home with your child to ensure he or she has the best chance for academic, social, emotional, and physical well being.

  • While making sure your child is reading for a least 20 minutes every day is important, reading TO and WITH your child is just as valuable! Find one or two nights out of the week to sit down with your child and read aloud to him or her. See the link below for a list of great chapter books the two of you could read together. http://www.scholastic.com/resources/article/kids-chapter-books/
  • Be sure your child is getting plenty of sleep each night so he or she is ready to learn and play each day. Second graders need an average of about 9 hours of sleep every night!
