About Mr. Horton

My name is Reed Horton, and I teach 7th grade English here at Bryson Middle School. This will be my first full year teaching, and I am so excited to begin this journey with you! Entering the teaching profession in the middle of the year last year prepared me in ways that I could not imagine, but I feel as though if I can start teaching in the middle of a pandemic, I can be successful at anything! I graduated from Furman University with my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology in 2019. I received my teaching certificate through the American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence program.

I was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, and have lived here my entire life!

Outside of the classroom, I love to paint and draw. During a normal football season, you can catch me on the side lines of a Furman football game, cheering on the Paladins, as I am a Furman Cheerleading alumni. I also enjoy spending time with my family, and my Shepherd-mix dog, Zola. I also enjoy skiing (although I'm not the best), swimming, and spending time outside with a good book!
