Course Description

The Law Enforcement course taught at Mauldin High School will introduce and prepare students for a career in the Criminal Justice System. Students will practice physical fitness, learn handcuffing techniques, practice personal protection, and use of force implementation. The course is designed to closely follow the curriculum established by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in Columbia, South Carolina.

Students will be required to complete FEMA Introduction to Incident Command System IS-100B, FEMA Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents certifications IS-200B, Incident Management System IS-700, and IS-800. The FEMA courses are required prior to entry into the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.

Also included in the Law Enforcement Services program is character development through the Congressional Medal of Honor Character Development curriculum (http://themedalofhonor.com/). Law Enforcement can be a great and rewarding career for those who wish to serve the public and their communities. It is advisable to read the Classroom Rules so you are familiar with my expectations from each student.
