About me

I love reading and language and consider it a privilege to teach high school students! I have been teaching secondary English for twenty-nine years, with eighteen of them at Hillcrest HS. This is my sixth year as the HHS Teacher Cadet instructor. I am originally from Massachusetts, having lived in the Richmond, Virginia area for eight years before we moved to Simpsonville in 2005. I earned my BA in English from the University of Massachusetts and a Master’s degree in Education (Reading) from Virginia Commonwealth University.  I am married to my husband Steve, and we have two adult sons, Jared and Kevin. 

In my free time, I enjoy reading, working out, mountain biking, swimming, and hiking. I also love the mountains and the beach.
