Expectations for Classroom Etiquette - “The 5 P’s”

When Not in Accordance with Class Expectations, Students will receive the following feedback:

Any severe disruptions will result in immediate notification to assistant principal or counselor.


Classroom Procedural Expectations

Supplies - Come to school each day with all necessary supplies for class.  The Chromebook must be brought to class each day, charged. When not in use, Chrome books should remain out of site. Please come to class each day with your binder/folder, notebook, and writing materials. 

Logistical Class Procedures - Each day, the class learning outcomes and homework will be posted. Be sure to be in your seat, writing down homework when the bell rings. We will begin class with an engaging activity every day, so be prepared to get started right away. All homework assignments can be turned into the basket corresponding to the class period at the front of the room or via Google Classroom. Please refrain from accessing the back cupboard or items on the teacher’s desk without permission. 

Phone / Headphone Policy & Procedures -   When you enter the classroom and class begins, please put your phone away and out of site. Headphones and Earbuds should be put away, out of site. Bluetooth or regular headphones should not be visible unless permission is granted for an academic purpose.  Failure to put away the phone / headphones will result in the following: 

Tardies: Each student is allowed 3 tardies. On the 4th and 5th tardy, a detention will be assigned; on the 6th tardy, a written referral to Administration will be issued. 

Make-Up Work - All assignments must be completed within five days upon the student’s return from an excused absence. The make up homework can be found in the folder at the front of the classroom corresponding to your class period and on Google Classroom. Please check Google Classroom and/or see me during office hours or after school for any clarification needed. 

Late Work - Major Assignment Late work will be docked 5-10%. Students will be docked 5% if the major assignment is turned in prior to the next major assignment; if the assignment is turned in after the next unit's major assignment, 10% will be deducted. Missing Minor Assignments will be docked 10-30%. Students will be docked 10% for late assignments completed before the unit test or major assignment within the same unit. Students will be deducted 30% for late assignments turned in after the unit concludes. 

Academic Redemption - Any student who scores below a 60 on a major assignment will have the opportunity to remediate and re-take the assessment. 

Academic Honesty- Academically fraudulent behavior will not be tolerated. In accordance with school policy, submitting academic work of another or copying work from the Internet are forbidden; this includes the use of AI technology to craft written work and analysis. Disciplinary action and a parent conference will result from plagiarism or copying of another’s work; students who exhibit recurring acts of academic dishonesty and fraudulent behavior will receive a score of a zero and a referral to administration.
