About Miss VanR

Hello everyone! This is my first year at Bryson Middle School and I am so excited for this school year. I just wanted to tell everybody a little bit about myself. My name is McCall VanRensselaer, VanR for short. I grew up in Virginia and moved to South Carolina when I started college at Clemson University in 2019. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology.  After college I immediately began working on earning my real estate license. I quickly learned that real estate was not the right fit for me. I ended up resigning and got a job as a long term substitute at Powdersville Elementary School. Within 10 minutes I knew that I wanted to pursue a new career in teaching. I then went on to be a long term substitute at Wren Middle School and I adored my time there as well.  I come from a long line of teachers in my family. My mother has been teaching special education for close to 30 years. My grandmother and grandfather both taught in the Greenville County School District for over thirty years. Education is my passion and I am so excited to continue this journey at Bryson. Some things I enjoy are being outside, hanging out with others, trying new things, and organizing. Do not hesitate to reach out to me, I am here for your student and for you.
