PBIS

What is PBIS?

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. Attention is focused on creating and sustaining primary (school-wide), secondary (classroom), and tertiary (individual) systems of support that improve lifestyle results (personal, health, social, family, work, recreation) for all youth.

In our classroom, students receive bee stamps for individual positive behavior. The bee stamps can be turned in for prizes. If students reach 125 stamps or more, they go to a school wide party at the end of the quarter!

As a class, we receive bee bucks from other staff members of the school for positive behavior in Related Arts, hallways, the lunchroom, etc. We turn in the bee bucks for class prizes as well! If we reach 100 bee bucks at the end of a quarter, we go to a school wide class party!
