All About Miss Simmons

Hi! My name is Olivia Simmons and I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade at Skyland Elementary School! This is my 2nd year teaching and 1st year at Skyland. I grew up in the Travelers Rest area and am a Travelers Rest High School Alumni! I earned my Bachelor's degree in May 2020 from Clemson University and went on to earn my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University and graduated in May 2022. I spent my first year teaching at Heritage Elementary teaching 2nd grade. 

When I am not teaching you can find me enjoying a good book, with friends and family, or exercising. Over the summer I read 20 books! My love for reading started at an early age when my mom and I would read Junie B. Jones books together before bed. I loved these books and memories made reading them so much that I named my rescue pup Junie Bee. Junie Bee is a Jack Russell Daschound mix and was adopted in September of 2021. She keeps me on my toes! Family time is very important to me and I spend as much time with my parents and grandmother as possible. I also have an older brother, Tucker. 

On July 29, 2023 my college sweetheart, Derek, asked me to marry him after dating for nearly 5 years! We are happily engaged and looking forward to our July 2024 wedding. He is my best friend and I cannot wait to spend our lives together!
