Welcome to SC/US History & the 8th Grade!  

You will be expected to complete assignments at home during our hybrid, eLearning schedule & face-to-face in the classroom.  Assignments & attendance to be taken daily.  As your teacher, I will provide the path for you to be successful.  As a student, you will be successful based on the decisions you make, effort that you apply, and the responsibility you take.  

Missed Quizzes, Tests, Retakes & Late Work:

Sevier Middle School policy: Major assignments that do not include checkpoints may be retaken/redone/revised. A retake/redo/revision can result in a grade up to 93. The retake/redo/revise assignment can be a different assignment that measures mastery of the same standard. Minor assignments may not be retaken/redone/revised.

Students must complete a qualifying assignment that is related to the standards being assessed in order to retake/redo/revise an assignment. Students will have two school days from when the teacher assigns the qualifying assignment to complete it. The retake/redo/revision must be completed within ten school days of the original assignment due date. 

Students who score below a 75 will automatically receive a qualifying assignment. Students who score between a 76 and a 92  may request a qualifying assignment. Students may retake/redo/revise a major assignment once. 

    Late work will be accepted up to 5 days with no penalty. The work will not be accepted after 5 days. An NHI will be entered as the grade. If I do accept late work (for reasonable extenuating circumstances) beyond the 5 school days of original due date, the highest grade a student may receive is 93.

The bell schedule is below. I have planning during 2nd & 3rd periods. We usually have grade level, district & departmental meetings beginning at 9:50 (sometimes 9:10) Monday-Thursday.
