About Us

I am so excited to be at Mauldin Elementary this year.  This will be my 28th year of teaching.  I began teaching 5th grade and Reading Recovery in Georgia and have been in the library for the last 16 years. I graduated from Clemson University with my BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.  I, then, earned my Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology (School Library Media) at the University of Georgia.

Family:  My husband, Chris, is a firefighter and the reason I moved to Greenville. I have 2 daughters.  My oldest daughter works with the GCSO  and my youngest is a Special Education Aide for GCSD.
We have 2dogs (Ginger, boxer and Vivian, beagle); 3 cats (Fig, Nox and Clementine); 9 beehives and 4 chickens.

When I'm not at school, I love working in my garden, reading, spending time with family, and taking care of our many animals.

I am excited to be starting 2024-2025 as the new Media Specialist at Mauldin! I look forward to working with students all year long and encouraging them to become lifelong learners who love to read.

I have a B.A. in History from Anderson University and a MLIS from the University of South Carolina. Prior to becoming a school librarian, I worked in a museum for several years and then at the public library. I am a native of the upstate and I currently live in Easley with my wife Katie and three sons, Tucker (7), Kyle (5) and Jack (5 months). 

In my free time, you can find me spending time with my family, building things, reading, or watching sports. I am an avid sports fan and I love the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves and NASCAR.
