The mission of the MES School Counseling Department is to collaborate with home, community, and school to provide equitable access to a data-driven, comprehensive School Counseling Program that empowers all students to be good friends, leaders and problem solvers. The program delivers evidence based curriculum and interventions that promote the academic, career, and personal/social development for ALL students.
Through the MES School Counseling Program, students gain the skills and knowledge to face challenges and seize opportunities. They become kind, caring individuals who recognize their potential and grow into lifelong learners, problem solvers, and leaders in a global society.
The School Counselor is an advocate for all students and follows ASCA’s Code of Ethics. Using data, the counselor continuously improves a program that reflects student needs and stakeholder input. All students have strengths, dignity, and the potential to lead, and they deserve equitable access to a licensed counselor and a supportive environment. With the right support, every student can learn and succeed. Education is most effective when home, school, and community work together, modeling responsibility and respect.
