Meet Mrs. Taylor

Mary Poppins and Mrs. Mary Taylor

Mrs. Taylor's favorite Disney character is Mary Poppins!

My name is Mary Taylor, and this is my 28th year of teaching.  This is my third year at Greenbrier Elementary, and third year teaching first grade, and I love it here!

I taught 2nd grade with the GCS Virtual Program during the 2020-2021 school year.  Before that,  I taught for 21 years at Hollis Academy.  I taught 5th grade, 3rd grade, and 2nd grade.    I was the 2008-2009 Teacher of the Year for Hollis Academy.

Before coming to Greenville County, I taught 4th grade at the International Christian School of Budapest in Budapest, Hungary.  I lived there for 3 years.  I had fun living in Europe, teaching children from many different countries, traveling, and enjoying many adventures.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop College and my Associate of Arts degree from Anderson College.

Mr. Taylor and I live in Simpsonville with our two Cockapoo puppies, Jasper and Henry, and our long-haired Chihuahua, Emma.  We enjoy spending time with our grandsons, Brantley and Jaxton, and playing with our pets.  Brantley will be 5 years old in November. Jaxton turned 2 in June.   When we have some free time, Mr. Taylor and I love to go to the mountains in Tennessee.
