Mrs. Martin has a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (with a focus on viola performance) and a Master’s in Education from Converse College. She has taught orchestra at Blue Ridge High School, Greenville Classical Academy, Southside Christian School, the Greenville Fine Arts Center (ARMES), Suzuki program at Stone Academy, League, and Sterling School/Charles Townes Center. All of these programs have grown under her tutelage. They have also received Superior ratings and honors at state and National Festivals. She has also coached students in Chamber competitions and those students have been honored with awards. Along with conducting Region and All County Orchestras, she has served as a Viola Clinician at the SC ASTA violin/viola choir.

In addition to teaching,she also plays professionally with both the Spartanburg Philharmonic and churches and serves on the worship team at Grace Church Taylors. She is married to a man who loves music and shares his knowledge with her often. She is also the mom to 4 amazing young adults and a grandmother to 3 adorable boys. Besides her family, some of her favorite things include hiking, reading, serving, taking kids to performance opportunities like All State and Region, writing music, and swimming. A favorite saying that she wants to live by was said by Harry S. Truman, "It is amazing what we can accomplish when we don't care who gets the credit." This will be her 8th year at Sterling/CTC during the school day and her fourth time back at League.
