Let me introduce myself...

My name is Lauren Ortiz, and I teach 6th grade English at Woodmont Middle School. 

My husband (Jose) and I moved to Mauldin, SC almost 17 years ago in the hopes of finding the perfect place to raise our family. What a great decision we made. Our daughter Mia (16) was born in 2007 and our son Luca (10) arrived in 2012. I have been a proud parent within Greenville County Schools for several years now and I am thrilled to be joining the Wildcat family as an educator. We also rescued 2 dogs in the last 2 years, Rome and Bruno. We are just mildly obsessed with them. They have most certainly completed our family. When we are not at home cooking up a storm, we love to explore the nature trails of Lake Conestee, visit with family and friends, and frequent live music venues. You might also find the occassional Harry Potter or Star Wars movie marathon happening in our house from time to time. Just sayin...

I hold a Bachelor's degree in English from Barry University in Miami Shores, Fl. My background is in both education and the hospitality industry. 

I am so honored to be on this educational journey with you and your child. I look forward to meeting you soon.
