About Mrs. Guest

I am so honored to be working with your child this year! This is my fifth year teaching 7th grade Science, and I am thrilled to be a part of the amazing team at Riverside Middle. Before coming to Riverside, I taught the 5th grade for 25 years. I did my first year of teaching at Mitchell Elementary in Charleston, SC. After that, I moved back to Greenville and taught at Grove Elementary for 5 years, Buena Vista for 10 years, and Woodland Elementary for 9 years.

I have lived in Greenville all of my life. I attended Paris Elementary, Sevier Middle, and Wade Hampton High School. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. Go Gamecocks!! I am a huge Gamecock fan! We will have lots of fun in class throughout football season. In 1993, I received my Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Furman University. In 2005, I finished my Master's degree plus 30 hours in Middle School Science from Furman University. I am certified in Elementary Education and Middle School Science.

My wonderful husband's name is Clive, and we have a beautiful twenty-four year old daughter, Katie, who is in her final year of her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of North Georgia. We also have a sweet cat named Markley! In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, working in my yard, sitting on the beach, and reading. Fall is my favorite time of year because of college football! Saturdays in the Fall are devoted to watching my Gamecocks play football!

I am looking forward to having you in my class this year. I am sure that there will never be a dull moment. I will have high expectations for each of you as I am sure that you will have for me. It will definitely take you, your child, and me working together to make this a productive year. If we all work hard, I know that we will have a successful year full of wonderful learning experiences!!
