I am happy to be teaching at Hillcrest High School. I have been teaching for over 20 years. Teaching is my passion! I truly enjoy seeing students learn and grow. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Communications at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. I earned a Masters Degree in Special Education from National University in Costa Mesa, California. I have experience teaching in many different areas including deaf education, speech pathology, and other areas of special education such as learning disabilities, emotional disabilities and autism. I have experience teaching in South Carolina, Texas, and California. The Hillcrest High School Credential Program was recognized by the University of South Carolina's School of Medicine and School of Education for being the top high school in the state for transitioning students with intellectual disabilities into the workforce.

I grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida. I also spent many years living in Houston, Texas and Long Beach, California. I have lived in Greenville, South Carolina for the past 18 years. In my spare time I enjoy swimming. I continue to compete on a national level at swim meets and open water competitions all around the country. I have swam in many unusual places. I swam 12 miles around Key West. I swam 10 miles from Long Beach to Seal Beach in 58 degree water. I also swam around Governor's Island in New York and swam right past the Statue of Liberty. I am the head coach and director for Greenville Splash Masters Swimming. I am also the founder of the Upstate Splash Charity. We organize fundraisers to provide funds to give to at risk youth so they have an opportunity to learn to swim. I also love going to the theater, listening to music and reading books. I love my crazy life with my husband and two cats: Nala and Scar.
