MR. Powell

is a graduate of Winthrop University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Instrumental Music Education. As a Trumpet player, Mr. Powell performed in the Winthrop Wind Symphony, as well as the Winthrop Swinging Eagle Jazz ensemble and basketball pep band.

This is Mr. Powell's first year at League Academy. He believes that middle school is a crucial time in a student's life where they can truly begin exploring their passions. It opens up the door for opportunity for many students to become more involved with extracurricular activities. 

Mr. Powell also works with the Wade Hampton High School marching band as the Assistant Band Director and Colorguard Assistant.

When he's not teaching in the band room, Mr. Powell loves to sing, play guitar, and play video games with his friends.

Mr. Powell's movie selections usually include comedies, horror movies and rom com's. Some of my favorite movies include "La La Land", "Saving Mr. Banks", and "Forrest Gump". Being that he is an avid Star Wars fan, some of his honorable mentions are "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" and "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back". 

His favorite spots in Greenville are Gather Greenville and Paris Mountain State Park.

Mr. Powell also loves to fish. He is an avid angler and can be seen fishing on the weekends. In college, Mr. Powell was a member of the Winthrop Bass Fishing Team. He mainly enjoys bass fishing, but also can find relaxation while catfishing.
