Student Information

Just as you have high expectations for me as your teacher, I have high expectations for you as my students. In order to provide the best possible learning environment, “Procedures, Classroom Rules, and Consequences” will be gone over many times and often reminded.  These guidelines will give every student the opportunity to manage his/her own behavior and they will be implemented at all times.  Please review the following with your parents/guardians.  Please remember that there is NO FOOD, CANDY, GUM OR BEVERAGE  (other than bottled water) of any kind allowed in the classroom unless medically necessary and it has been documented via the school nurse.

Expectations for Success in Art

1.  Treat everyone/everything with respect (including you)

2.  Being responsible & accountable; allow others the opportunity to learn

3.  Being prepared & ready to create

4.  Practice self-control & cooperate with others

5.  Put forth effort, always try, & do your best

Rules in ART

1.  Arrive to class ON TIME with required materials.

2.  Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

3.  Follow directions the first time they are given.

4.  Stay on task during all work times, no wandering the room.

5. No food, gum, candy, or drinks allowed in the art room.

Throughout the semester, I will continuously offer positive reinforcements to each student regarding their ability to follow the above classroom rules.  I love to email or call parents/guardians on how awesome you are doing in art!  Another positive reinforcement used in class is music.  Music plays a huge part in the creative process of art.  Music will be played during independent work time on a class radio.  If listening to music becomes a disruption to the class, the privilege will be taken away.

EVERY student has the right to work in a positive learning environment and if a student makes the choice to break a rule, including the No food/drink/candy/gum rule, the following consequences will be imposed:

Consequences for Breaking the Rules:

1)     Conference with student

2)     Parent Contact (via phone or email)

3)     Referral to Administration

*Serious offenses will result in severe consequences and will be handled on an individual basis by the grade level administrator.

Students, I expect your best when you come to class.  Show me your best and I will give you my best to help you grow as an artist!
