English 2 CP

Welcome to English 2!

This class is an EOC class, which means at the end of the semester you will take a standardized test. Your exam grade will be 20% of your overall grade. We will also periodically take benchmarks that consist of both multiple choice questions and TDA essays.

In English 2, our focus is World Literature. We will examine and engage will all kinds of texts from all around the world, and discuss the many different cultural and historical influences that affect reading and writing. Students will practice close-reading and analytical skills, as well as writing and communication skills.

Our unit overview and the texts we will read can be found in the syllabus below. My lesson plans are also posted below--if you miss any days of school, please check the lesson plans as well as Google Classroom for information about what you missed. In the lesson plans, I have also included a calendar that covers everything from the standardized testing days, holidays and work days, to spirit week and school events. I will be updating this calendar regularly, or you can find this information on the BRHS website.
