About Me

Personal

My name is Katie Lawton, and I am a Special Education Inclusion teacher at Eastside. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Clemson University, and a Masters of Education from Southern Wesleyan University. This is my second year teaching at Eastside High School, but I have twelve years of experience (Southside High School & Pickens High School). I have my National Board Teaching Certification in Special Education

I am married to Parker Lawton, who I have known since 7th grade when his family moved to my church (Easley First Baptist). He is in the lumber business, and he works and co-owns Dixie Lumber Company in Easley, SC.

My husband, Parker, and I have three children, Molly (7), Riley Claire (5), and Paisley (3). We also have two dogs, Sydney and Charley. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my three girls and spending time playing and learning with them.

In my spare time, I enjoy Clemson football, and I love learning, watching, and listening to anything that is college football related. I also like college basketball. I like learning about technology and how to implement it in my classroom. I also enjoy singing in the choir at my church and being involved with the children/youth programs. I love reading The Walking Dead comics, making clothes for my three girls (embroidery, applique, sewing), and playing Clash of Clans.
