Dear Parents,

I am so excited about being your child’s second grade teacher! This year is going to be filled with many learning opportunities. I am filled with enthusiasm, anticipation, and excitement and I hope that I can pass this on to my students. Each and every child will be special to me and I will strive to guide, nurture, and prepare them for a love of learning.

I graduated from Clemson University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I have my Masters degree from Southern Wesleyan University. This is my twenty first year teaching and I’ve been here at Bell’s all but one of those years. BCES is HOME to me and I love seeing former students and parents in the hallway each year! I enjoy shopping, reading, cooking, decorating our house and spending time friends and family. My husband is a team roper and travels to rodeos on the weekend. We have a little boy who will be in 2nd grade here at Bell’s this year.

I grew up in a teacher’s home. My mother taught for thirty six years and has just recently retired. I always wanted to follow in her footsteps. I remember teaching my stuffed animals when I was little and using old textbooks from my mom’s classroom. I even had my own one room schoolhouse. I truly believe that some are called to this profession.

I am committed to quality education and will do everything I can to assist your child in having a productive second grade year. I feel that school and home communication is vital and will be a key component to the success of your child!

Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you and I look forward to having a great year!
