SYLLABUS for 2023-2024

COMMUNICATION

Please know that I am always interested in your questions, concerns, thoughts, and feedback.  If you call me during the day, your call goes directly to voicemail to avoid interruption of instructional time; therefore,  I will call you back as soon as possible.   Please feel free to contact me any time throughout the school year via email or phone. STANDARDS

I will structure lessons from the state standards at each grade level.  A complete listing of standards can be accessed through the Greenville County School District website and the South Carolina State Department of Education website. Click Here

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

Students are expected to follow the rules set forth by their classroom teachers, as well as the school-wide GatorAIDE guidelines.

GatorAIDE

A is for Attitude    

Have a positive attitude, treat others with respect, be ready to learn

I is for Integrity   

Do the right thing, be fair, truthful 

D is for Dedication

Be dedicated to your school work, study, and prepare for greatness

E is for Effort

Always do your best, help others, be a model Gordon Gator

Rules for the Lab:

• Enter the room in an orderly way and be ready to INVESTIGATE!

• Don’t touch materials until you are instructed to do so.

• Safety First!  Follow all lab safety rules agreed upon in class.

• Have fun, and try your best!

Students who make positive choices will be rewarded with the chance to win a prize that day.  We will spin a number wheel or draw names from a basket.

The following consequences will be applied when students do not follow the classroom rules:

R: Reminder-The teacher will remind the student of the rules.

R: Reflection-The student will be removed from the activity for a brief amount of time to reflect on his/her behavior.

R: Report-The teacher will report the student's behaviors to the classroom teacher for consequences. 

R: Referral or Parent Contact-The teacher will conference with parents, or the student will be sent to administration with a referral.
