About Me

My name is Jennifer Wike and I have been teaching history and geography for 20 years. I previously taught for 5 years at Wade Hampton High School, and 12 years at Riverside Middle School. This is my 3rd year teaching with the Greenville Virtual Program, though I taught virtually through WHHS during the 2020-2021 school year.

I grew up in Greenville, South Carolina and graduated from Riverside High School. In 2004 I graduated from Clemson University with my BA in Secondary Education: History & Geography and a Minor in Fine Arts (with a focus on graphic design and art history) and later earned my M.Ed. in Social Studies Curriculum & Instruction from Concordia University. I have also coached Mock Trial, Academic Team, and sponsored Student Council.

In my spare time, I enjoy photography, crafting, web/graphic design, reading, and catching up on my Netflix queue. I'm a big fan of Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, Game of Thrones, and anything about the Tudor era. My absolute favorite holiday is Halloween, and my family is nice enough to humor me with awesome family costumes. My husband (also a high school teacher) and I have four children between the ages of 11 and 15.
