Attendance

We will follow the GTC attendance policy. For a detailed discussion of this policy, please see the School of Arts and Sciences Policies in the Syllabus and Info link on Blackboard. During  the first week of class, the Arts and Sciences Policy Acknowledgment form is due. You must complete this form during the first week of class. Those who do not complete the assignment risk being denied access to the course or withdrawn from the course entirely.

Academic Integrity

The student is responsible for all work completed in this course (work should not be completed by any other party). All work must be original to this course this semester. Students who are found guilty of academic dishonesty will receive a zero for the assignment. Any academic dishonesty will be reported to the head of the department. Students may also  be subject to further disciplinary action.

All assignments must be turned in on the due date, whether students are in class or not.

Additional Information

Most readings are located in your textbooks and are marked with page numbers on the calendar below (AAL=Arguing About Literature BH=The Bedford Handbook). Occasionally, readings will be found in Blackboard and will be marked (BB) on the calendar.  You will be assigned vocabulary terms throughout the semester. It is your responsibility to become familiar with these terms, whether through course lecture and resources, your textbook, or online sources.

Login Information:

It would be helpful if you could TRY to login into GTC4Me and Blackboard before class begins. Here's a sheet with helpful login information on it. If you have questions, we'll talk them over the first day of class. Don't stress out if it doesn't work for you--just reach out to some of the helpful emails/contacts and see if they can help at the college.
