About Me

I was born and raised in northern Greenville County. After graduating from Blue Ridge High School, I attended North Greenville College (now North Greenville University) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education in 2003. Upon graduation, I received an opportunity to teach at Clyde Elementary School in western North Carolina. I continued to teach 4th grade at Clyde Elementary for the next ten years. I looped with my fourth grade class in 2013, traveling with them to 5th grade. It was such an honor to teach the same group of children for 2 years in a row...we truly felt like a family. My family and I decided to move to South Carolina in the summer of 2014, and I began teaching at Sara Collins Elementary (5th grade). This will be my second year teaching at Woodland, and I am thrilled to be a part of a school "Where Every Leader Succeeds in Learning and Life." This is where my teaching career was launched as I completed my student teaching in the Spring of 2003 under the mentorship of Mrs. Linder. Being able to come full circle and once again invest in the Woodland community is a sweet moment for me.

I have been happily married to my husband, Andy, since April 2006. We have 2 energetic young boys, Noah and Aidan, both students at Woodland Elementary. They are such a blessing to us, and we love spending time together as a family. We enjoy playing sports (tennis became a new hobby for us this summer), running around outside, going on walks/hikes, fishing, camping, and playing board games. I savor spending as much time with my family as I can, cooking/baking, curling up with a good book, and doing creative projects around the house (inspirations from HGTV).
