About Me

My name is Karen Lake. I will be your child’s STEM Lab teacher this upcoming academic school year 2023-24. I have been employed with Hollis Academy over 17 years in several positions. I have been the K5 Kindergarten Paraprofessional, Media Clerk, Computer Lab Manager, and LD Self-Contained Aide. I am married and have four boys. I graduated from Morris College with a BS Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. I realized that working with children was my passion and inspiration when I took a position in the school district surveying schools in communities where funds were needed to help prepare students for the SCReady State Testing. So, I started my journey as a paraprofessional at Hollis Academy and have been here ever since. 

I look forward to working with your child(ren) in the fall of this academic school year. We will be doing a lot of activities in the STEM Lab. Some will be very messy and some will not. So, there will be times when we will have to wear glasses, aprons or gloves. But, all of the activities are safe and have been tested by me and approved by the principal before I perform them with the students.
